Premium Ferrosilicon Magnesium FeSiMg6Re1
What Ferrosilicon Magnesium Does In Ductile Iron
FeSiMg is what a ductile iron shop calls the nodulariser. Magnesium is the active part: dosed into the ladle it pulls the graphite into round nodules instead of flakes, and that is the whole difference between grey iron and ductile iron. In our alloy the silicon rides along as a buffer. It slows the violent burn-off you get with pure magnesium, so the reaction in the ladle stays calm, with little splash and a steady, predictable recovery shift after shift.

Grade Data
| Grade | Typical chemistry |
| FeSiMg6Re1 | Si 44-48% / Mg 5.0-7.0% / Ca 0.5-1.5% / RE 0.5-1.5% / Fe balance |
| FeSiMg7Re1 | Si 44-48% / Mg 6.0-8.0% / Ca 0.5-1.5% / RE 0.5-1.5% / Fe balance |
Where It Goes In The Ladle
One addition does several jobs at once, and it is worth seeing how they lean on each other. Magnesium takes oxygen and sulphur out and ties them into slags that float off cleanly; silicon feeds the spheroidising reaction; and the Mg2Si forming in the melt works as a nucleation core, refining the grain and cutting down the porosity and shrinkage trouble every foundry fights in castings. Phosphorus, sulphur and lead are held under tight limits here, and low-aluminium or low-titanium grades can be made for special-steel and automotive work.
Packing And Loading
Lumps normally ship in 1 MT jumbo bags; granule and cored-wire customers get smaller drums instead. Every lot runs through our own lab before dispatch and the analysis sheet travels with the bags, so what your furnace man charges is what the paper says it is.

Our Company
We are Anyang Mingrui Silicon Industry Co., Ltd, working out of Anyang in Henan province, China. Furnaces, the sieving line and a small lab sit on the same plot, which is how we manage to line a trial lot up against the spec your metallurgist sends over without a long wait.
FAQ
What is the rare earth for? A small RE addition keeps the nodule count up and works against chill in thin sections.
Lumps or cored wire? Both are available; the choice usually comes down to how your ladle is set up.
How do I pick between 6 and 7 percent Mg? FeSiMg6Re1 suits most ductile iron work; step up to FeSiMg7Re1 when the sulphur in your base iron is high.
