High Quality Calcium Silicon Ca30Si55

Calcium silicon is a deoxidiser that also changes the shape of the inclusions left in the steel. The calcium pulls the oxygen level down and, more usefully, rounds off the oxide and sulphide particles so they float out instead of stringing into lines that can tear during rolling. Ca30Si55 sits in the middle of the three grades we keep on the shelf.

Most mills add it during ladle treatment, either as lumps dropped into the ladle or as cored wire fed under the slag. Calcium boils at steel temperature, so how you add it matters as much as how much you add: wire feeding into a calm ladle keeps the recovery up, while a rough tap sends a good part of it off as fume.

Standard packing is 1 MT jumbo bags; 25 kg bags and drums are there for smaller units. Every batch is analysed before dispatch, so a COA travels with the lot. We normally quote 7 to 10 days from order.
