Low Silicon Ferro Silicon FeSi45

FeSi45 is the mid silicon ferro alloy, 40 to 47 percent Si, grey white and slightly porous with a brittle break. We tap it at our furnace in Anyang, Henan and screen it into lump before the bagging line.

Its main job is a calm deoxidation before the serious alloying, plus a cheap silicon source for structural and spring steel.

Power draw is why people ask for this grade. Pulling one ton of silicon this way runs roughly 10-15% under FeSi75, so the 45 sits cheaper on your cost sheet. Casting houses take the powder for inoculation and for injection instead of lump.
