Standard Silicon Briquette Si50B
What A Silicon Briquette Is
A silicon briquette is silicon powder pressed into a bite sized lump, so it can be charged like any other alloy instead of blowing away as dust. We make them in two grades: Si50A for a cleaner carbon figure, and Si50B when a little more carbon in the briquette is acceptable. Both are meant to take the place of part of the FeSi in the charge.

Chemistry
| Grade | Typical chemistry |
| Si50A | Si ≥ 50% · C ≤ 8% · Al ≤ 5% · S ≤ 0.10% · P ≤ 0.05% |
| Si50B | Si ≥ 50% · C ≤ 15% · Al ≤ 3% · S ≤ 0.10% · P ≤ 0.10% |
How It Works In The Charge
Because the briquette is dense, it sinks into the melt instead of floating, so the deoxidation goes ahead at a steady rate. The shape also helps collect the slag: oxides gather on the briquette and come up together rather than staying in suspension. Plenty of mills use it to replace a share of their FeSi and shave the alloy cost per tonne.
Sizes And Packing
The usual size is 10-50 mm briquette, though we can press other shapes on request. Packing is 1 MT jumbo bags, and each lot leaves with its own analysis.
Where They Are Made
Mingrui presses these in Anyang, Henan, China, from silicon powder we screen first. The briquette line runs beside our ferro alloy work, so we can hold a consistent chemistry from batch to batch.

FAQ
Briquette or lump FeSi? A briquette is cheaper per unit of silicon and feeds better, but FeSi still gives a cleaner silicon figure when the spec is tight.
How is it packed? 1 MT jumbo bags as standard.
Can you press a custom size? Yes, within reason.
