Silicon Manganese Alloy SiMn 6517 for Steelmakingproduct-1200-896

We produce silicon manganese alloy (FeMnSi) at our Henan facility by smelting manganese ore, silica, and coke in a submerged arc furnace. The result is a ferroalloy that contains both manganese (Mn) and silicon (Si) as its main active elements, with low levels of carbon, phosphorus, and sulfur. SiMn 6517 is one of our most popular grades, offering a balanced composition thats suitable for a wide range of steelmaking applications.

We offer two main grades:

Grade Mn (%) Si (%) C (max %) P (max %) S (max %)
FeMn65Si17 (SiMn 6517) 65-68 17-20 1.8 0.15 0.05
FeMn60Si14 60-65 14-17 2.0 0.20 0.05

FeMn65Si17 is our standard grade for BOF and EAF steelmaking. FeMn60Si14 is a more econoimcal option when the manganese requirement is less strict. Both grades are available as natural lumps or processed sizes (10-50mm, 20-80mm).

The key advantage of silicon manganese alloy is its dual function as a deoxidizer and an alloying agent. Silicon and manganese have a strong affinity for oxygen - when added together they form low-melting-point silicate inclusions that float out of the molten steel easily, giving you cleaner metal with fewer non-metallic inclusions. At the same time, the manganese adjusts the hardenability and tensile strength of the steel while the silicon contributes to elasticity and magnetic properties.

Silicon manganese also produces a mild exothermic reaction in the molten bath, which helps maintain temperature and assists slag formation. Compared to adding ferrosilicon and ferromanganese separately, using a single SiMn alloy reduces the number of alloy additions per heat and lowers your overall deoxidation and alloying cost.

Each batch goes through chemical analysis before shipment. Weve been supplying SiMn alloy to steel mills across Asia, the Middle East, and South America since 2010. Our customers include integrated steel plants and mini-mills producing rebar, wire rod, sections, and flat products.

Packaging: 1-ton bulk bags or as requested. Lead time 7-10 days after order confirmation. Contact us for a COA or to discuss your specific grade requirements.product-1402-1122product-1448-1086product-1200-896
