Products Description
FeSi75 is one of the most heavily consumed ferroalloys in steelmaking, produced by carbothermic reduction of quartz with coke and steel scrap in a submerged arc furnace. Silicon has a strong affinity for oxygen: added to molten steel it forms SiO₂ which floats into the slag while releasing heat, delivering both deoxidation and a temperature gain. As an alloying addition it raises strength, hardness, elastic limit and magnetic permeability.

Precipitation and diffusion deoxidation at EAF, BOF and induction furnace tapping; ladle silicon correction; low-alloy structural steel, spring steel, bearing steel, heat-resistant steel and electrical steel; base material for foundry inoculation and alloying
