10-50mm Ferro Silicon

 

Ferro Silicon is a kind of ferroalloy which is composed of ferrum and silicon. Ferro Silicon uses coke, quartz (or silica) as raw material and electric furnace. Because silicon and oxygen are easily compound into SiO2, the ferrosilicon is often used as deoxidizer in steelmaking.

1. Steelmaking: as a deoxidizer and alloying agent.

2. Casting: Used as inoculant and spheroidizing agent in ductile iron to promote graphite precipitation and improve performance.

3. Magnesium metal production: For the Pijiang process of magnesium smelting, each production of 1 ton of magnesium needs to consume about 1.2 tons of ferrosilicon.

4. Other industries: Used as a reducing agent in the production of low-carbon iron alloys, beneficiation suspension agents, electrode coatings, and chemical fields.
