Premium Calcium Silicon Alloy Ca30Si60

Calcium silicon (also written CaSi or Si-Ca alloy) is a ferro alloy we make by melting silicon and calcium together in an electric furnace, pouring ingots and then crushing them to the size you want. In the ladle it does two jobs at once: it takes oxygen and sulphur out of the steel, and it changes the shape of the inclusions that are left, so they float up into the slag instead of stringing out along the rolling direction. Mills usually add it to killed steel, bearing steel and pipeline grades where steel cleanliness is what they get judged on. Foundries also use it as an inoculant.

Our most common grade is Ca30Si60. We also supply lower calcium grades down to Ca10Si40, and we can adjust the heat to match your own ladle practice.

The table below is our standard range. Composition and size can both be made to your requirement.

Size: 0-2mm, 0-3mm, 10-50mm, or as your requirement.
Packing: 1 MT / bag.

Size is worth a thought before you order. The 10-50mm lump is what most mills take for hand charging at the ladle; the 0-2mm and 0-3mm fines are for cored wire, or when you need it to dissolve fast. Tell us your target Ca and your ladle practice and we set the heat to match.

On standard grades we hold C at 1.0% max and Al at 2.0% max. If your steel spec is tight on aluminium we also make low-Al versions - thats the same material on a cleaner furnace charge, so the price moves a little. Ask us and well quote both.

Normal packing is 1 MT big bags. We can also do 25 kg bags or palletised bags if your warehouse prefers it. We load out of Qingdao and Tianjin, and for a full container the lead time is usually 7-10 days after we confirm your size.

Weve also packed calcium silicon as granules and as cored wire filling for customers who feed it automatically, so if you dont want to hand charge it just say so.

What does Ca30Si60 mean?
Ca 30% minimum, Si 60% minimum. The number in front of the element is the guaranteed minimum.

Which size should I take?
10-50mm for hand charging. 0-3mm if you feed it with a cored wire or want it to dissolve quickly.

Do you supply low aluminium?
Yes, on request - tell us your Al ceiling.

Packing and MOQ?
1 MT big bags as standard. One container is a normal trial order.

Can you send a sample or SGS report?
Yes. Sample is free, you cover the freight, and we can book SGS before loading.
